Dragon’s Dogma

Capcom is working on its first role -playing game with the open world – Dragon’s Dogma for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The largest team in the history of the company, which the creators of Devil May Cry 4 Hyroyuki Kobayashi and Hideaki Itsuno, headed the project.

The development of Dragon’s Dogma began two years ago on the basis of MT Framework, the Capcom its own engine used in Lost Planet 2 and Resident Evil 5. In the role of a hero, telepathically connected with a powerful dragon, players have to travel around a huge country, perform various tasks, and in the final to find a mysterious interlocutor and destroy him.

The world of Dragon’s Dogma is a typical medieval fantasy, familiar in Western role -playing series like Gothic and The Elder Scrolls. Dragon’s Dogma has a huge open world and is generally very reminiscent of Demon’s Souls, scheduled only for PS3 and Xbox 360. CAPCOM considers the product the start of the new «hit franchise».

In Dogma, you head a group of three characters, and your priority goal is to kill a mystical dragon. The team members are controlled by AI, and their abilities depend on your actions throughout the adventure. The developers promise an “affordable depth” in the combat system, for example, the weight of your weapon or armor will affect the attack style, however, it is said that no micro -study in the game will be.

Dogma is created by the internal forces of Capcom, or rather the command responsible for the Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4. By good tradition, the development of the MT Framework engine is used in the development.
